The St. John’s Home
for Children Administration Building was built in the early 1900’s.
It originally housed youth and Sisters of St. Joseph in its early
years. Today it houses our Administrative Offices, Case Management
office, Business Office, Counseling/Therapy room, Computer Center,
Education Center and Training areas. |

The
Clara Coats Memorial Cottage comfortably houses our youth. This one
story building contains the youth bedrooms, as well as a kitchen,
dining area, living area, laundry room, restroom areas, staff office
and pantry area. |
The
dining area is where our youth and staff eat their meals in a
relaxed family-style atmosphere. This also serves as an area for
youth to do homework, as well as engage in fun activities such as
board games, putting puzzles together, and drawing and coloring. |
Our
living area is a place for youth to relax. They may watch TV or
movies and use the computer on a limited basis, and listen to music
here. This area is also used for family-like house meetings with our
youth. |
This
is the Clara Coats Memorial Cottage hallway that leads to the youth
bedrooms, staff office, restrooms, and laundry room. |
Our
youth bedrooms may be either single or double rooms. Each youth is
provided with his own bed, dresser drawers, and dresser to hang his
clothes. Each child is encouraged to decorate his room to reflect
his own tastes and culture, to have family pictures, and post
personal achievements, as well as store his personal belongings in
his bedroom. |
